Priest Holmes should get the start against the Broncos and do well. I'd recommend picking up the ageless/oft-injured one.

Chatman has a tiny edge IMO, just because we know what he has and know he is getting most of the carries. No one has seen Priest for a while and him getting the majority of the carries is just hearsay at this point. Both have nice matchups though, and both should do well.

Yeah, Chatman should get the ball a decent amount and who knows how Priest is going to perform. I want to start Holmes pretty bad, but the smarter play is probably Chatman.

Herm said that he obviously can't give all the carries to Priest, but he has to play rookie Kolby Smith a little as well.


This sounds like he doesn't feel comfortable with Smith in the game, so maybe 20+ carries for Priest is a good possibility against the worst rush D in the league.

What has changed with the Broncos' run D anyway? I didn't notice any big losses this offseason... why are they so bad?

The loss of big Gerrard Warren hurt them in the middle. I love Sam Adams (former Seahawk) but the guy need to hang em up already. Dumervil on the edge is a pass rusher, never has been a big run stuffer. Just very young yet also very old at the same time.

Their middle linebacker, one of the best in the league, quit due to injuries all of a sudden and they signed a bunch of small pass rushers as well as trading Warren.

News: According to a report from the TV station KDVR in Denver, Chiefs RB Larry Johnson is out for the season. The story said that a source within the Chiefs organization with direct knowledge of the situation has confirmed the injury. Johnson had suffered a mid-foot sprain in the fourth quarter of last Sunday's 33-22 loss to the Packers. However, the TV station has reported that Johnson has a broken bone in his foot. Kansas City coach Herm Edwards said Tuesday that Johnson would be highly questionable for Sunday's game against the Broncos, but Edwards declined to speculate on how long Johnson might be out, saying he did not have enough information.

i would not even bother with Kolby Smith at all, i cant see more then 5-7 touches a game not really worth a roster spot, unless its a deeper 12-14 team league!

It really depends on this next game. I don't think Holmes can come in and get 25-30 carries right away. If Kolby has decent numbers, it is foreseeable he will become the starter with holmes as backup.
